The idea behind the terrain set is that the basic part has a size of 15 cm x 15 cm and the terrain level is 6.5 cm high. This way the individual terrain parts are standardised, so that they can easily be combined together and each time form a different kind of battlefield. For larger bunkers and artillery positions the size is doubled so they take the area of two standard terrain parts. The individual terrain parts are made out of a wooden frame and the terrain was modelled with thick cardboard.

Morgoma offered "The Battle Field" in four different sized sets of 4, 5, 6, and 8 terrain parts each (see templates for building the battle field). These 4 sets could be combined to a large battlefield which allows you to make a realistic combat scene with trenches, bunkers artillery positions and observation points.
