With the age of 60, he married 26 year old typist Eva Gruhn. His best
men were Adolf Hitler and Hermann Göring. During the administration
act after this marriage a police officer discovered a record about Eva
Gruhn which announced her as a prostitute. On being informed of this fact
Adolf Hitler became very upset and ordered that the marriage be annulled
to avoid a scandal. However von Blomberg refused to follow this order and
was, therefore, released from all his official positions on January 27th
1938. He died after the Second World War, at the age of 68.
