After Action

When you think about toy soldiers, you normally have miniature battle fields in mind. Little models portraying the action in combat, showing the primary activities of warfare: tossing grenades, carrying ammunition, or assaulting in full combat dress.

But there is more to everyday life in a campaign, then just fighting, or preparing for the fight.  Lineol  and  Hausser produced a series of figures, that show us in amazing detail what the camp life was like.

The day begins with personal grooming, the soldiers wash themselves in a bucket, drying off with a towel and applying shaving cream, as well as shaving in front of a square pocket mirror.
