Until 1952 he lived with his wife Wallis Simpson in excile
but returned to England on the death of his brother George VI.
At this event, for the first time since his abdication, he took part in a Royal ceremony.
At the age of 78 he died in Paris but his body was brought
back to England and now lies in a cemetery at Windsor, in Berkshire.
Figures
Edward VIII was only produced as a figure by Lineol
and was first offered for sale in the Lineol Price List from 1937 (page 17)
with the number 5/3E, which also specified the figure of his brother
and successor George VI. The figure was obviously produced prior to his
abdication and therefore explains it's rarity and present value.
