Days of yore populated by knights in
shining armor and fair maidens in imposing castles have always fascinated children.
Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table stir the blood and fire the
imagination. It's no wonder than that the two major German makers of composition
toys, Hausser/Elastolin and Lineol, produced several series of medieval figures and
accessories.
The 1925 Lineol catalogue carried 10 different medieval figures that
are extremely rare nowadays. This series included a king, two different knights
mounted on horses, knights on foot and several other figures representing life at a
royal court.
