Composition Knights

Much more common, but still hard to obtain, is the next series of medieval figures made by Lineol, which was first shown in the 1933 catalogue. This series was made in the 75mm scale, which was the common scale for toy soldiers in Germany at this time. There were three different models of mounted knights and five different models of foot knights. This series also included a mercenary beating a drum. However, from a historian's point of view, this type of figure should not be placed together with the knights.

For young boys trying to stage a battle, it was important to be able to build two distinct armies. Lineol accommodated this desire by painting its knights in tow different color combinations: one group in red and blue and the other group in yellow and green. To complete the scene, Lineol also produced a composition castle sold together with these figures. It seems that Lineol produced these figures until the end of World War II.
