Biography
Viktor Lutze was born on 28th
December 1890 in Bevergern, Westphalia.
During the World War I he served in the Infantry Regiment No. 369 and in the
Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 15. where he was wounded and lost his left eye.
In 1922, after the War he joined the National Socialist Party
(NSDAP) and in 1933 Adolf Hitler appointed him as the chief of police
of Hanover. After the assassination of Ernst Röhm in June 1934 he
became the chief of staff of the Storm Troop (Sturmabteilung - SA). He was also
a member of the German parliament (Reichstag). According to official reports he was
killed in summer 1943 in a car accident with his daughter, but it is possible that
he was assassinated like his predecessor Ernst Röhm too. His successor became
Wilhelm Scheppmann.
