Biography
Ealdur von Schirach was born on the 9th
May 1907 in Berlin. At the age of 17 he joined the NSDAP. Four years later he was tasked by the
nazis to influence students in German uinversitys. He fulfilled this
task very successfully. In 1930 Adolf Hitler appointed him as the supreem
youth leader of the NSDAP, and when the Nazis came into power he was appointed
as the supreem leader of the Hitlerjugend in 1933. In this position he was
responsible for educating the German youth so that they would become willing
followers of the Nazis. In March 1939 membership in the HJ became mandatory for
all boys aged between 10 and 18 years, and all girls between 10 and 21.

In August 1941 he left his position as leader
of the HJ and was appointed as the city commander of Vienna. He remained in
this position until the end of the war.
After the war ended, he was convicted as a major war
criminal during the war crimes trials held in Nürnberg. There he was sentenced
to 20 years imprisonment at Spandau Prison, West Berlin.
Baldur von Schirach died in 1974.

number 30/50/7. The figure has a movable arm and shows von Schirach wearing
the uniform of the supreem HJ leader.
